UniFi Access for Hospitality – Common Questions

A few of the questions we hear most from WA hospitality venues moving away from keys and old-school access systems.

Can UniFi Access replace our existing door access system?
In most cases, yes. We design a UniFi Access solution around your existing doors, locks and site layout, replacing controllers and readers where needed and aligning credentials with your HR and venue processes.
Are there ongoing licence fees for UniFi Access?
No. UniFi Access does not charge per-door licence fees in the same way many traditional access systems do. Your main costs are the hardware and our design, installation and optional ongoing support.
What happens if our internet goes down during trade?
Doors continue to operate using the local UniFi Access controller. You may temporarily lose cloud-based visibility or remote management, but on-site access rules continue to function.
Can we give different access to managers, staff and contractors?
Yes. We design access profiles for each role type – managers, duty managers, bar staff, kitchen, housekeeping, security, bottle shop, contractors and more – with different doors and times per group.
Can we link door events with our UniFi CCTV cameras?
Yes. When we deploy UniFi Access together with UniFi Protect, we can align door events with camera views so you can quickly pull footage of who used a door at a particular time.
