Ongoing Support & Changes

What You Need for a UniFi Access Deployment

Every UniFi Access solution is built from a few core components, then tailored to your doors, people and compliance requirements.

1

UniFi Access Controller

The central brain for your doors and credentials. Manages who has access where, handles logs and coordinates with the rest of your UniFi platform.

Often co-located with your UniFi Protect and Network controllers for a single pane of glass.

2

PoE Network & Door Infrastructure

Managed PoE switches, door cabling, strikes and locks. We design secure network segments for your access control hardware.

Where appropriate, existing switches are reused and uplifted into a more secure design.

3

Readers, Panels & Credentials

Door readers, touch panels, NFC cards and mobile credentials mapped to your doors and staff roles.

We help standardise how credentials are issued, revoked and audited.

4

CCTV, Wi-Fi & Multi-Site Expansion

As your environment grows, we tie in more sites, more doors and deeper integrations with UniFi Protect CCTV and Wi-Fi.

The result: one view of how people and events flow across your entire footprint.

UniFi Access – Common Questions

A few of the questions we’re asked most often by WA businesses modernising their door access.

Are there ongoing license fees for UniFi Access?
No. UniFi Access does not require per-door licences in the way many traditional systems do. Your main costs are the hardware plus our design, installation and ongoing support if required.
What happens if the internet connection goes down?
Doors continue to operate using the local UniFi Access controller. Remote management and cloud-based visibility may pause until connectivity returns, but day-to-day access continues.
Can UniFi Access link to my UniFi CCTV cameras?
Yes. One of the biggest benefits of the UniFi ecosystem is the integration between Access and Protect. You can correlate door events with camera footage to see exactly who entered or exited and when.
What kinds of credentials can we use?
UniFi Access supports NFC cards and fobs, PIN codes, and mobile app credentials. Certain deployments can also support touch-free and biometric-style flows where appropriate.
Is UniFi Access suitable for multi-tenant or multi-site environments?
Yes. UniFi Access scales well across multi-site and multi-tenant environments. We can separate sites, groups and roles so you retain control and visibility while keeping administration practical.
